Bird Bath Cooler
TGIF!
If you're planning to throw a party this weekend (and if not, think about it!), here's a resourceful way to keep drinks cool and chilled for your guests. Use a bird bath!
Just fill your backyard birdbath with ice and stock it with wine, champagne, beer, soda and water. When the party is over, just leave the ice in the bird bath and let it melt. Then our feathered friends have cool water to drink. Just be sure to remove any stray corks, labels or any stray items out of the bird bath and in the trash.

what a fun idea! the birds in my yard might not be so impressed, though...they love their birdbath!

Great idea! We are having a BBQ rib party this weekend and I know where the drinks are going!
When I defrost me little freezer(as seen in one of my postings), I put all of the ice reminants in the bird feeder, good way to recycle it and give the birds a cool drink.

Sounds good but please remember that many stores spray insecticides all around bottles etc. and many others stores also do this, so there is the possibility that you could poison the birds. I routinely wash off most bottles that I bring in the house after seeing the pest company at work in the state store in Philadelphia.

Oh, dear ...birds have been known to poop in their birdbaths, so if you're not using a brand new birdbath, PLEASE give the bowl a good scrub before adding the ice and the drinks.
Or maybe use a big salad bowl or serving bowl as a liner for the birdbath?
e.coli, legionella . . . no one wants to take those home from a party.

Great idea! In high school I had a party in my parents' back yard and they filled the wheel barrow with ice and kept the sodas in there.
