Potting Shed
A few years ago, I found this galvinized washtub on the side of the road. It was in Pennsylvania in Amish country and an Amish farmer had thrown it away. I found something very charming and utilitarian about it, so I snatched it up from the trash heap and took it home.
This dual washtub has had a few lives. First, at my home on a Christmas tree farm, I used it in the living room and stored books and magazines in each tub. It was featured in the pages of Country Home magazine and I loved the juxtaposition of the rustic tub with the elegant, clean line of the hemp sofa that was next to it.
Then, when I moved to another home, it became an outdoor bar. It did drain after all. So it would be filled with ice and keep all types of beverages chilled during the summer months.
But as I was cleaning out the craft room today, I thought, why not use it to pot new plants? So I made a quick potting shed. Gathered some pots, a bag of organic soil mix and rested some landscaping tools on the side. What's the A and B, you ask? I have no idea... but again, that's all part of the charm, isn't it?

What a cool find! I love the idea of using them as an outside bar ...
