Organic Bouquet

Dsc01343

I got these organic roses from a company I use all the time called Organic Bouquet.    There are two dozen roses in this photo; the lime green ones are my favorite and it's one that I send out all the time as thank you gifts to my friends and colleagues.

I hauled out a flea market skinny bucket and filled it with cold water from the sink.   Into the bucket went the thirsty flowers.    Then I ran off to do something.    Then I went away for the day.   After a day of just sitting in the bucket in the sink, I've gotten used to them this way.  In fact, I kinda like the idea of unarranged flowers.

I realize some of you are probably reading this thinking, "Danny has definitely lost it," but there's something very French market about this idea.     I've since moved the bucket of roses to the living room, and right there on the floor, they sit next to the sofa.    It looks so simple, so nice and makes the room smell great.     Why do I need to spend an hour making an arrangement that's going to die in a few days anyway?

It's sorta like buying a whole bag of organic oranges and throwing them into a bowl.   Once the roses are wilted, I'll dry up the petals and toss the dried petals with essential oils and place them in a silver bowl.

Tres chic, Danny.

Agreed. Has anyone tried American Apparel's organics? I'm dying to, but don't wanna invest if they aren't worth it..
