If you read this blog often, you know how much I obsess over Method cleaning products. They are non-toxic, affordable, and available in stores all over the country. I use their products to clean everything in my house.
Well, I'm very excited to announce that I've formed a partnership with Method and will be working with them to not only promote their products, but to come with fun new ideas on using them and----here's my crafty side---on recycling their uniquely designed packaging into new and fun things. You can read about the partnership here.
So, in my kitchen, I've lined up all the empty Method packaging I've collected: empty soy candle containers, handwash dispensers, Aromaring holders, and even the Costco size bottles of handwash.
Today, I'm going to tackle a few recycling projects on turning these containers into something special and new. Oh, what fun! But to see what I do, you'll have to check at methodhome.com. I'll let you know in a few weeks when it's all posted and live on their site.

Ahhh.... I want one of those big bottles!
I bought my one and only bottle of Method handwash as a souvenir in New York last year but didn't have a clue that a bigger version existed...

I wonder if you could make the large bottles into birdhouses or birdfeeders. maybe even use the aroma rings as a perch.

Love this! Esp those soy candle holders. The are the BEST shape! I reuse them to make....more soy candles! Love soy wax, esp that you can microwave it in a pyrex measuring cup and just pour and go! Good times. My question is, though, how would you clean out those candle holders? I would like to use them for something else eventually and don't want to use those caustic wax removers.....

looking forward to it! in the meantime, can you please ask Method to make Costco size refill bottles for their cleaners (e.g. tub+tile) so that i don't waste the plastic of buying a new spray bottle each time i run out after a Method frenzy?

See what I'm saying about the packaging, imagine how many a family of 5 would have used? Why aren't refills sold in eco-friendly forms? Like the paper containers that soups, shelved soy milks come in?

i, too {like many, many others out there} share your love for method! i'll have to admit, it is a great product and eco-friendly, i'm sold on method because their packaging design appeals to the designer in me. i'm definitely looking forward to seeing what you come up with as you've got a great base to start with.

I LOVE Method products and am happy that more people will be hearing about them as a result of your partnership and the publicity you will bring. I agree with others that larger refills would be SO appreciated. The shower cleaner does come in a larger size that my family buys to refill our original bottle. Looking forward to more.

Oh my geeze. I'm in LUST with method. I'm a method advocate, through and through, and it pleases my heart that Danny Seo is as well. :) I stick the candle holders in the freezer for a few hours after they've burned as much as they'll burn, and then I scrape out the remainder (wax tidbits and the small metal wick anchor), wash the holder, and turn it into a pen cup. I have them all over my house and give them away as presents to coworkers. They're so stylish and durable...plus, the whole thing (candle included) was only about $6!!

The article on the abalone was fascinating. Do you know how I can reach someone so that I can purchase some of the very tiny abalone, that may die off during the process?? I mean .50"-.75" or 1.27-1.90cm. THANK YOU helen from CT

regarding eco-friendly refills, i'm not sure if this is more eco-friendly, but it sure sounds like it... i recently saw some window cleaner brand (not windex, some other one) that sells refills in tubes. it's basically a plastic tube filled with a concentrated version of the product.. you drop it into a spray bottle filled with water, the plastic tube dissolves.... and voila :oD i thot it was the coolest thing ever. sorry, i cant seem to find the brand..
