Count this idea as rejected idea for my Fresh Thinking column in Country Home magazine.
I took some empty containers--a soup can, a tin can that once held organic chickpeas, and a large coffee can---and measured shelf liner paper to fit around the can. Since the paper is self-adhesive, all you have to do is peel and stick and voila! Wood grained containers.
Even though they didn't make the magazine, they are sitting in my guest room holding pencils and supplies together. I'm rather fond of the dark wood color; there's something very 70's retro chic about it, like a bad wood paneled wall.

Those are adorable!
Sidenote: I read this blog quite often and I can't remember if I've ever commented, but I do want to say that I love this blog and I love what you do! I am a big fan of your work! Keep it up!
