Chopstick Frames

Fortuneframes

I started this blog to share some eco-craft ideas that didn't make the cut in my column "Fresh Thinking" in Country Home magazine.   So, here's one of 'em.

I've been tinkering with things you normally find in people's junk drawers and I think it's safe to say everyone has Chinese food takeout chopsticks.     And many of us save fortuns from fortune cookies.   Why not frame them?

This project is so easy:   Just cut out a square of cardboard and glue chopsticks around the edges (these were cut down into smaller pieces).   Glue the fortune in the middle and then glue two smaller chopsticks to top of the finished frame to prop it up.   Done!     Or you can tie string around the whole frame and hang them.

This might be a better ornament idea for the Christmas tree or something cute to line up on the shelf in the kitchen.  It's quick, it's easy... !

This is such a cute idea! I love it when you get quirky fortunes that just make your day. Thank you for sharing it with us - I love how you are so creative with mundane, everyday things.

...and artistic! Grouped like that they would like quite at home in a visual arts setting!

Great idea! I wanted to send out Chinese New Year crafts to my friends and family members and this is going to work just great! Thanks.
