We ALL have them: wineglasses with a chipped edge. Sure, you can use them still tos serve wine, but you're left reminding everyone, "if you got the glass with the chipped edge, be careful! Don't cut yourself." Seriously, that's not hospitality... it's a precursor to a hospital visit.
So, instead of endangering someone's life, why not recycle them into candles instead? I melted beeswax candler over a double boiler and poured into random crystal goblets I had with chips; I even did a candy type dish I had.
I got the wicks from the craft store and voila... brand new candles.
Cool, aren't they?

Lovely! I did the same thing a while back with random PartyLite votives I had around the house. The nice thing about PartyLite votive candles is that the wicks are independent from the candles, so you can just slip them out. So I took out the wicks, melted a few similar colors/fragrances of votives together in one pot, placed the votive wicks in a few orphaned glass punch bowl glasses, poured in the melted wax and voila! Brand-new cute candles for my kitchen. :)

Great Idea! I make soy wax candles from reclaimed ceramics. I like to use soy wax because it can be completely washed out with soapy hot water. That way when the candle is done, I can reuse the ceramic for jewelry, knick knacks and floating flower buds...
